Day 01: Arrival at Kochi
Transfer to the hotel. The guided tour in the afternoon takes you around the many sights. In the evening enjoy a Kathakali dance performance at a local theatre.
Day 02: Kochi -Munnar
A scenic drive in the morning takes you to the beautiful hill station of Munnar. From here take a safari into Eravikulam National Park you could also visit a tea factory.
Day 03: Munnar – Madurai
After breakfast, drive to the 2500 year-old temple town of Madurai, where you can witness the Palli Arai ceremony at the great Meenakshi temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva.
Day 04: Madurai – Periyar (150 km)
Leave in the morning for the sprawling, 777 sq km national sanctuary around the attractive man-made Periyar Lake. The evening boat cruise affords some wonderful, close sightings of wildlife.
Day 05: Periyar – House Boat (155 km)
Drive to Alleppey to board your converted kettuvallom, or traditional rice barge, for an overnight cruise through the tranquil backwaters.
Day 06: Kumarakom
Disembark at 10 am at Kumarakom, your backwater resort, where you spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 07: Kumarakom
Full day at leisure. You could opt for an Ayurvedic massage.
Day 08: Departure from Kochi (95 km)
Transfer to Kochi airport for your connecting flight onward.
